Well, not anymore.. Gone are the days when people relied only on tv for entertainment.&lt;br /&gt;It all started way back in 2001. Radiocity 91 fm started in bangalore and rocked the city with some amazing stuff. It showed us what is FM radio all about. They have been changing their content.. Currently they play english, kannada, hindi songs. 91 was the only commerical channel in the city till this year. Ofcourse bangalore had rainbow fm.&lt;br /&gt;Then came radiomirchi in the month of april. They wud have done some home work on listenership and targetted the locals. RJing will be mix of kannada and english with the majority of songs being in hindi.  And after a couple of months , radio one started its operations in bangalore. Their strategy is more or less the same as the mirchis. They play more kannada songs. You will see a few more stations in the near future.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I think RJs play an important role in attracting listeners.  People dont listen to FM just for music.
